Sint Maarten is a real Caribbean paradise with its white beaches, clear blue waters, and the planes flying very low right over one of these pristine beaches: Maho Beach. During our visit to Sint Maarten we bathed ourselves in luxury in the all-inclusive and adults-only resort Sonesta Ocean Point. It was a real treat staying here, and in this blog we tell you all about our experience.

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort is one of the two resorts at Sint Maarten part of the Sonesta chain. As mentioned above it is an adults-only, all-suite, all-inclusive luxury resort. The resort offers unique views over Maho Beach where you can spot the planes while they arrive in paradise. The all-inclusive is 24/7 and they offer great service all day long. If you are looking for luxury and great service in paradise, this is the place to be.

Check-in

We drove up to Sonesta Ocean Point Resort in our rental car. We could park in the garage adjacent to the Sonesta property and we were brought to the lobby with a golf cart. We visited during times of Covid, so when we entered we first had to disinfect our hands and stand in front of a temperature sensor to check for fever. A face mask was required as well. The check-in went easily and the concierge brought us and our luggage to our amazing suite.

The Suite

We stayed in the Junior Suite King on the 5th floor, with a huge king bed and amazing views over the pool and the clear blue ocean. The room also has a lounge and a minibar with all-inclusive drinks. And we are not just talking about a beer and a soft drink, you will also find quality liquors right here! The bathroom was big and had a very nice shower. And on the balcony, you can find some seats as well to enjoy this amazing sea view.

Facilities

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort offers heaps of facilities. There are two pools, of which one is the most beautiful Edge Pool with amazing views. Both pools come with pool service for food and drinks. There are three à la carte restaurants, two of those are exclusive for Sonesta Ocean Point guests, including the signature Azul Restaurant. The food was so delicious! Besides that, there are four exclusive bars and lounges for Ocean Point guests. And if you don’t want to go out, there is also 24/7 room service! There is still much more, like a fitness center and a spa.

Best of Both Resorts

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort is one of the two Sonesta Resorts on the island. Right next to it you can find Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa, which is an all-ages resort, with another five restaurants and bars, a pool with a swim-up bar, and much more. The perks of staying at Sonesta Ocean Point is that you can enjoy all the facilities of both resorts, so even more choices of where to eat, drink and swim!

The Location: Maho Beach

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort is located in the heart of Maho Village which offers great entertainment, shops, bars, restaurants, lounges and more. Steps away, the resorts sit over the world-famous Maho Beach, where you can almost touch the planes as they make their final approach to Sint Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport, which is a five-minute drive to the Sonesta Resorts. Also close to the resort is Mullet Bay, which, in our opinion, is the most beautiful beach on the island. Sint Maarten itself is a tiny island, so you can drive around very easily.
