It simply means that now more people can experience the beauty of Langkawi!

Langkawi, Malaysia

Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands about 30 km off the coast of northwestern Malaysia. It is also known as ‘the Jewel of Kedah’ and is home to stunning cultural attractions, lush forests, white sand beaches, crystal clear water and so much more. It’s paradise on earth! In 2007, the islands were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in recognition of the important biodiversity and geology they host. Despite the popularity of this region, the island has lots of charm where the local traditions have been preserved.

Some of the highlights of Langkawi include:

Beaches

Of course, you can’t miss the beaches in Langkawi! There are hundreds to choose from, all super pristine, but the biggest and most impressive has to be Pantai Cenang, which is super long and wide. Other beautiful beaches are Tanjung Rhu and Pantai Tengah.

Island Hopping Tour

As Langkawi is an archipelago, it should not surprise you that there are a large number of islands nearby where it is possible to go on an island hopping tour! On such an island tour you mostly sail between three of Langkawi’s most beautiful islands and just chill on many of the blissful beaches you’ll visit during the day. A great island hopping tour is this one.

Mangrove Boat Tour

Langkawi has lots of mangrove along its shore and taking a Mangrove Boat Tour is the best way to explore this amazing flora and fauna and the diversity of the Malaysian nature.

Waterfalls

There are quite a few waterfalls in Langkawi but Telaga Tujuh is definitely the most impressive. Other beautiful waterfalls in the area are Temurun Waterfall and Durian Perangin Waterfall.

Langkawi Night Markets

Night markets are pretty popular in Langkawi and for good reason. Of course, you have to try the local food in Langkawi and where can you do that better than at one of the many street food stalls?! Night markets are found right across the island meaning that you can enjoy authentic Malay, Indian, Chinese and fresh seafood dishes everywhere. Most night markets change location every night and the stalls are usually open from 5 pm to late at night.

No, we haven’t and we haven’t said anywhere that we did. This was a partnership with Qatar Airways and they provided us with all the info we needed. We do stand completely behind their values and also think Langkawi is a great place to visit
