Hola everyone!

As many of you already know, we are going on a new adventure: we are going on a world trip for the 2nd time!! We don’t do this trip without a reason. There is a whole history full of travels behind it! For as long as we can remember we really love traveling. As a small child, Manon already went on vacation every school holiday with her parents and during Summer even 5 weeks in a row. Always camping with the caravan. And also Bram went on holiday with his family regularly.

After a whole lot of holidays in Europe, it was time for Manon to go on an internship on Curacao in 2011. At that time she was still doubting: ‘Will I do this? Isn’t 5 months way too long?’ Not knowing that right now I can’t stop traveling anymore 😉 Still, she wanted to go on this challenge and now she is very happy she did it. Because how different would our lives probably be if Manon didn’t have this experience?! Manon fell in love with the island! After 2,5 months Bram came and visit Manon on Curacao, and also stayed on the island. After Curacao we also made a trip through the USA and since then we really got the travel bug!

When we came back from this adventure, we soon had new plans for a world trip. This world trip began in September 2013 and lasted until May 2015. Back then, we started in Hong Kong and Thailand en then traveled and worked in Australia for a year. After that year we also went to New Zealand, Fiji, Los Angeles, Las Vegas en back to Curacao.

Here’s a nice photo of our return from that world trip, where our previous stories have stopped:

Tip: we places stories of our previous world trip on bramenmanonopwereldreis.waarbenjij.nu

After this trip we didn’t even wanted to go back to the Netherlands (sorry friends and family), it went só well, and of course we couldn’t stay at home anymore. Thus the idea for our 2nd world trip has arisen. During our previous world trip we even had the plan to leave the Netherlands as soon as possible again when we came back. But first we had to save money, because of course the money was more than gone when we came back… Eventually it took longer than planned before we knew when we would leave again.

But now it’s really certain: On Sunday 30 October at 14.40 we start our world trip and fly via Dubai to Australia! So you know what time you have to be at Dusseldorf airport to wave us goodbye 😉

“Don’t listen to what they say. GO SEE”

So far, it’s definitely sure that we first go to Dubai for 9 days on 30 October. Here we will have a nice holiday, because we didn’t even had that during the Summer. From there we fly to Perth, Australia on 8 November. En that’s really the only thing that’s sure haha. But of course we have a lot of plans in our heads: The plan to look for work in Perth immediately and to stay in this region for half a year. We really need to work, if we want to travel much more, so let’s start with that first! It’s the intention to both find work in our specialty, Bram as mechanical engineer and Manon in childcare or something else with children. That way we can earn much more in Australia. Now let’s hope it’s all going to work out haha!
After working for half a year we, of course, want to travel more around Australia, because even though we saw a lot in our first year, we still have enough on our bucket list! We especially want to discover Western Australia, because we haven’t seen anything of it yet.
But, everything is still open, so it all can be changed fairly easy 😉

The only thing that’s fixed now are our flight tickets to Dubai and Australia. We applied for our 2nd Working Holiday Visa and with that we can travel and work for a year in Australia, so it all depends on how long we will stay there. But last time, we didn’t even had enough time in a year so I think we will finish this year as well 😉

And after Australia… that’s the big question. At the moment we really don’t know yet what we will explore after that en what comes on our way. Maybe we wanna stay longer in Australia, maybe we wanna travel further quickly.. who knows. We will plan the trip after Australia somewhere over there. We will see how it all goes…

And that’s exactly how we want to experience this trip: we will see what comes on our way! We know that everything always will be allright and we love the freedom of travel. That’s why we don’t plan too much and will see what comes on our path. Long live freedom!

There is, however, one place we both really want to visit and that is South America. I actually know for sure we are going to travel there after Australia. Flying via the Pacific Islands (like Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Tahiti) to Chili. Yes, that’s already on our minds.

En then there is one big question: where do we want to settle down after all of this? Because of course we won’t stay the youngest en before you know it we are 30. And we also want to have kids sometimes. But living in the Netherlands? We don’t know if we want that for the rest of our lives. So if we see a beautiful place on our way where we lose our hearts to, than there is a big chance we might stay there!
So, we don’t know when we come back and if we actually will come back. Of course we will come back to the Netherlands some time, but maybe that will not be to live there. We really want you to keep in mind that this is a possibility.
And maybe we aren’t even going to settle down. Maybe we get children and will travel wit our travel, who knows… the future is still completely open for us! And we love it!

“I don’t know where i’m going, but i’m on my way”

For now we are very busy with the preparations. This time we started much later than last time. We notice we get much more relaxed after traveling many times. Now we think: everything will be alright. Still, it’s a lot of work again, but fun to do. Because our 2nd Working Holiday Visa needed to be arranged of course, Manon wants to let her diploma assessed and needed to do an English test for that (for which she gets the results next Friday, exciting!), we have to arrange new driving licenses, we want to go looking for a job a bit already and we want to go looking for an apartment in Perth.
We actually get really excited when we do all these things and really can’t wait any more. But the end of the preparations is near, because in 1,5 months we are going!

We are extremely excited for this big step in our lives! Traveling for a long time again and maybe even emigrate.. not something to think lightly of! But for us it’s only one big, amazing challenge and the thing we love to do most: exploring the world 🙂

But before you guys have to miss us we first have to work for a couple more weeks, we have some nice parties on schedule and of course we have our farewell party. This time we really want to have a proper goodbye from everything and everyone, because maybe it is forever. And that idea makes us a bid sad as well sometimes… it’s so double! But, for us this is our biggest dream, so we have to live with the annoying parts (like missing everybody) as well.

Of course we hope you will all follow our stories on this website. We will do our best to place an update regularly. If you want to be the first to know when we place a new update, you can subscribe to our mailinglist by filling in the details in the sidebar.

See you soon everybody and we’ll make it some unforgettable last weeks!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain
